ETERNAL GARDEN
Eternal Garden is a delightful exhibition featuring the works of Juliette Roach and Lisa Wilder, a talented mother and daughter duo whose artistic endeavors celebrate the multi-generational faithfulness that brings blessings from and to the Lord, as well as to a world in desperate need of refreshment as profound as a cool drink to a weary traveler on a hot day.
The combined exhibition of Juliette and Lisa showcases the individual strengths of their artistic visions and forms a cohesive whole that mirrors the unity and complexity we see from the Triune God as it pertains to creation. Just as Christ holds all things together through the power of His word, the artworks of Juliette and Lisa, diverse in medium and message, cohere into a unified display of creativity and reflection while being upheld with all the rest of creation.
This exhibition is a testament to the generational blessing of faithfulness—how it shapes the individuals and the art they create. The works of Juliette and Lisa are imbued with a vitality that arises from their shared lineage and spiritual heritage, offering us a glimpse into a makerly dance of creativity, preservation, and introspection.
We invite you to delve into this unique artistic encounter, where the legacy of faith and the power of artistic expression converge, offering each of us a moment to pause, reflect, and be inspired.
Artist’s Statement:
Juliette Roach draws her inspiration from the unassuming beauty of God’s creation and the subtle transformations brought by the changing seasons. Her work, which focuses on preserving the delicate fragments of nature such as feathers, butterfly wings, and moss in clear epoxy resin, invites us to pause and appreciate the often-overlooked wonders surrounding us daily. By collecting, pressing, and artistically altering natural elements, Juliette transforms these simple gifts of nature into conversation pieces that echo the Creator’s inventiveness and care.
On the other hand, Lisa Wilder creates large-scale, mixed media artwork using primarily oil paint, where she explores art as a conduit to deeper understanding—a passageway into the complex interplay of social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and creative realms. Her work challenges us to confront and reflect on the everyday issues that touch our lives, such as relationships, spirituality, and the enigmatic essence of existence. Lisa’s art serves not just as a mirror to our own experiences but as a lens through which we can explore new perspectives and insights.
